I had a nightmarish dream two nights ago and am still chuckling about what upset me most in the dream...

This part of it is true; we're flying out to see my brother in a play (The Sound of Music) in a couple of weeks and he's playing the part of Captain von Trapp.

Cue in dreamy harp music~~~~

I got a call from him just before we were to leave for California saying that the gal playing Maria von Trapp suddenly dropped out and they needed me to fill in. At first, I was reluctant because I knew they had kissing scenes. Come on... that's just gross. He's my brother! Ewww. He promised me that they'd be air kisses and we'd be able to fool the audience because they were so far away.

I was still grossed out about how that would look (me being his sister and all...) , but being the good sister that I am, I agreed to it and asked him to fax me the script. I memorized the script during the flight, and sang the songs in my head. I dreaded the fact that I was going to have to sing songs that I couldn't practice in advance with the orchestra, especially not knowing if they were going to be in the right key for me.

We got to the hotel room and had just a few minutes before we had to leave for the big show. I could NOT make my hair look good. I kept crying because it looked like I had road kill on my head.

Then I woke up.

So, of all the things I could have been REALLY upset about in this dream:
1. playing my brother's girlfriend
2. performing in a play that I hadn't rehearsed
3. singing in front of a large crowd with no rehearsal

I was most upset about my hair.

Hmmm....
