This and that…
  • Today would mark day three that the bearded eye-roller has been on his golf tournament trip. I've had four meals that included my hot chili garlic sauce so far. I was reminded last night about why I should cut back a little.

  • My friends should arrive in about four hours to start our girls weekend. I have plenty to do to prepare for said arrival, yet here I sit reading and writing in blogs. My excuse is that the sun isn't out and I need to work on my yard before I do my inside chores (so I don't track dirt in on my clean floors, dontchaknow). The sun had better hurry up already. Time's a wastin'.

  • I forgot that I had a QCN update from Thursday. I've mentioned before that she sits in the same spot every day. I guess most people on the train know this, but we had some new riders on Thursday. The baseball game let out in time for some of the fans to enjoy a train ride home. Yeah, EXCITED baseball fans on the quiet car. I was really hoping for a good show I'd get some research done.

So, one of the new riders sat in her seat before she got on the train. You should have seen the look she gave him! It was precious! She ended up sitting in an identical seat across the aisle, and continued giving him the stink-eye. Eventually, he got up and left for another train and then she got up and sat in her seat.

Then the rest of the loud baseball fans started filing in. They were quickly shushed by the junior QCNs before there was much of a show study.

The best part of the trip was when the train conductor got on our car towards the end of the ride, and stood and talked to a couple of the passengers standing by the door. They yacked together (not even quietly!) for a good 10 minutes and she was squirming in her seat. The train conductor is pretty much the boss of the train, so I'm sure she knew that shushing him would be a bad idea. But she did go up and talk to him after the guys got off the train at their stop. I really wish I was closer to hear what she said, because he ended up laughing. I guess I'll never know...

  • I went shoe shopping on my lunch hour with my sis (Heidi) on Thursday to find some sandals. Nordstrom was having their half-yearly sale and I'd already gone to their online site to see what the selections were, so I thought it'd be an in and out thing and then we'd go have lunch, but not so. She and I looked at every stinkin' sandal there and found nothing. We ended up at Macy's where I found a cute pair of sandals. OK, this seems like a really boring story, right? Here's the funny part. At that point we were in a hurry so we separated ways. I found my sandals within three minutes and had the salesperson go find them in the back. He had the stock person get them while he (unbeknown to me) went to help my sister. She found the exact pair of sandals and had him get them from the back. He came out and saw us sitting together and laughed. Neither of us knew that we'd picked out the same shoe, in the same color and same size even!

We both tried them on and both liked them and both bought them. Now normal women would probably decide who gets to keep the shoes, but (need I remind you?) we're not normal.

Speaking of my sis, our dad has been scanning family pictures and sending them to us. The moment I saw this picture I had to add a thought bubble to describe the look on her face. I think that pretty much sums up her mood, don't you?

lovelovelove the picture. LOVELOVELOVE the sandal story... this is the kind of thing that happens with me and my sister all the time! sometimes we'll wind up buying identical things at opposite ends of the country! (it's pretty funny when we get together and discover we have a lot of the same things!)

hope the "sleepover" was a blast... and that you girls behaved yourselves! (and, thanks for the blogroll tip... can't wait to try it!) cool smile

So what is happening with your poor hubby? You're making him fend for himself? You should be ashamed of yourself.
