This and that
Wow- I've come back with a vengeance, eh?

We haven't had a good "this and that" for a while, so I thought I'd throw a few topics together and turn it into a post.

  • We had a good windstorm the other night. When I got to the end of the driveway, I saw that one of our VERY TALL trees had fallen over and was blocking the street. Thankfully, there is more than one way to get out of our street. It was dark and I didn't want to miss the train, so I went the other direction and called the bearded eye-roller to let him know what he was in for.

Did you know that if you call the city (streets? Utilities? I don't remember who he called), they'll come out and cut up the offending tree into nice piles of firewood? Too bad we don't have a fireplace- but our neighbor appreciated it.

The tree did cause some annoyance for our poor mailman though. Until we fix our mailbox, he'll be required to crawl on his stomach to deliver our mail.

  • I'm working this weekend, but it's awfully fun because a) I still have my precious wits about me and b) I'm creating the graphics portion of the web-based training that will be rolling out to 52,000 people in a couple of weeks. I believe that this training piece will be my best yet and I'm really excited about it.

  • I've started getting serious about adding more liquid protein to my diet and it's paying off. I haven't changed my diet or lack of workout routine at all, and I'm losing weight. A major accomplishment since two of the drugs I'm on are well known for causing weight gain. I've been drinking this stuff, which is pretty yucky- but it does the job.

  • Speaking of diets, Heidi and Sam are looking FABULOUS these days. Sam is on a completely raw food diet and Heidi is 'mostly' doing this as well. Sam has a site, but I'm not going to link it unless he gives me permission. Congrats you crazy kids- you really do look AB FAB.

PS- who doesn't love that show? (Absolutely Fabulous). I don't really care too much for British humor (sorry friends on the other side of the pond), but this show is an exception and has me on the floor laughing whenever I watch it.

  • I've purchased a new domain name and I plan to use it as a 'learning central' if you will for people with traumatic brain injuries and/or post concussion syndrome. I'm really excited about getting it started because I think it's going to help a lot of people.

  • I keep adding lame things to this list because there was something else I wanted to mention, but it's not coming to me right now... so I'm just blabbering on and on. Maybe it's time to set you free from this blog for today.

And with that, I bid you adieu.

Yay for you and Cozy and the Chairman looking FINE!

And I LOVE Ab Fab! Have you ever watched any of the French & Saunders sketch shows? That's where the concept first came from and a lot of their stuff is hilarious, particularly when they're making fun of celebrities wink

Oh Yeah? Well, I have been "on the brink" of trying to get myself re-motivated to get back onto the treadmill. Maybe I will start with the protein stuff first. Is it just available online or is it in a certain store as well?

Your new domain sounds very interesting. I have one friend who had a brain aneurysm which caused a stroke, which caused him to lose his whole side, including his speech, but not his Engineering Degree. It was so frustrating to him.

Poor Mailman! And WOW what a storm to bring that down! Hope everyone else is OK.

Wow thanks for those kind words Ris! My blog is of course open to the public for any who care to hear the ramblings of living raw. I just wish I had the extra brain cells to make a kick ass website like yours. I'll have to outsource to China for that. wink

BTW Hilarious thinking about you smoking... roflmbo
