The best compliment…
One of the admin assistants to an executive in our division came up to me to tell me that she found a new job. As we talked, eventually I got around to asking her what her new manager was like. Her arms were held out to me and she said, "She's JUST like you, and that's why I wanted to tell you about it. She's one of the most positive people and the light in her eyes just shines. JUST LIKE YOURS. I truly felt what she said, I even took ownership of it (which is rare for me when I receive a compliment), and it meant a lot to me. I love to hear that I bring comfort and positive feelings to someone. But in the workplace? Wow. That's pretty huge, because that's where I'm the most assertive. I don't feel that I'm my *best* self there. I feel that I'm my most effective self there, but best? No. I've been such a crab due to all of the stuff going on lately. I'm so glad that I'm still able to share my 'true' self with the people who matter. I believe I've been given yet another lesson in perspective today. The best compliment is when you least expect it coming! I bet that made your day and will be remembered for a long time. Now you have something to pep you with when you need it. Love your blog!    ![]() neva wrote:
what you should focus on is the fact that you clearly touch people in a lovely/positive way -- even when you're not trying! that, my friend, is the sign of true compassion/kindness, and something you can't pretend to have and/or hide, from anyone! (not even when you're feeling crabby...) i'm glad she shared that with you! : D    ![]() grrltraveler wrote:
