Ready for a change
Here's the thing. I get bored with my hair very quickly. I'll never be that old lady that has kept the same hairstyle for 30 years. Heck, I can't even keep the same style for one year. I came to the conclusion not too long ago that the blond makes me look older. Nobody ever seems surprised anymore that I have kids ages 25 and 26, but when my hair was darker I always got the "no WAY... you do NOT have kids that age" comments. Even though this color makes me look older (or perhaps my age), I'll be keeping it because it's WAY less maintenance than trying to maintain dark brown (my natural color before I started growing the white stuff). I've decided to grow my hair out, and this is the look I'm going for (pay no attention to the color, even though there was a time when my hair WAS this color): ![]() I don't have to grow my hair out very much to get to that look. I have very thick hair and it's full of body, so this style works well for me. Just for fun, I bought the wig shown in this picture because it was only 25.00 and not previously worn. I don't know where I'd wear it, but it looks like fun. I also have a platinum blond wig that one of my friends gave me. I never wear it in public, but it is kind of fun to put on and create a whole different look using different makeup techniques. Of course, when I surprise the bearded eye-roller with the new look, I generally get one of these: ![]() Maybe I'll have a wig show for y'all when I get it. Until then, I hope you can find a way to keep the anticipation level low so you can sleep at night. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about another adventure on 03/26 at 05:02 AM

That style will look INCREDIBLE on you!! And about the hair color thing--I don't think that it's necessarily that YOU look older as a blonde, however, as women get older, they do tend to lighten their hair more often to blend the grey, and so maybe people are just more used to seeing lovely, "mature" ladies with blonde hair rather than brown? Just a theory! I have no proof! I think you look beautiful no matter what color your hair is, and I totally get that you like to switch it up!    ![]() Cozy wrote:
I'm in total agreement with Angela. You're beautiful no matter what! And ooh, I can't wait to see this on you. It'll look fab!    ![]() AnnieOfBlueGables wrote:
agreed on all comments. I wanted to try the red/purple/maroon highlights in my dark hair, but my hairdresser daughter says we would have to strip all the color out of the part that was to be colored the red color, so I decided not to. I thought it would be fun for a change. Just subtile enough to have people look at it and say: Is that maroon!!!!???? Saw a lady yesterday in the Gen. Lib with totally white hair and one red streak on the top. She looked SO CUTE! that's me when I grow up I want to be a character. ~a    ![]() Anonymous G wrote:
That hairstyle is so YOU! Love it!! I'm darker again. It's a pain in the patootie though because my hair IS gray under there and I have to hide the roots VERY often. I just think the darker color looks richer with my eyes/complexion. I think. maybe? If I could, I would change my hair often. Trouble is...no matter HOW I get my hair styled it Always.Looks.The.Same. sighhh..    ![]() Anne wrote:
That's a great style that will look great on you - nice to have a bit of curl to flip up like that. E has that. I however, do not. I like your hair darker too, I think it makes your eye color POP which is cool. I'm pretty sure though, whatever you do to your hair will look lovely! xo Next entry: All dressed up and nowhere to go Previous entry: No pride in my appearance today, I guess In case you're wondering....
