File this under “Lori is on auto-pilot”
BJ unloaded the dishwasher last night. While not particularly noteworthy because he does get to it before I do about once every three to six months or so (snicker), it is worth mentioning because he puts things away differently than I do.

For example, he turns the cups and glasses upside-down in the cupboard. I put them away right-side up. I dunno- the idea of the rim of the glass touching possible dust is enough to give me the creeps. (OCD much?)

So now that the scene is set up properly, do you see what's coming?

I normally eat my granola dry from a coffee cup in the morning. I pulled the cup out of the cupboard and proceeded to pour the granola onto the bottom of the cup. Granola went EVERYWHERE before I noticed what I was doing.

I think we can safely say that it's a good thing I don't have young children at home. I'd probably diaper their head.

hee hee! You know I put glasses away like BJ does...and like you. I have to alternate them it's the only way they'll fit. But here at the office and the cups I do put away upside down but I think the opposite of you - dust floating into the cup itself. Esp at work. Bleh.

Sorry about your cereal. At least you did that with dry cereal and not milk!!

Hope the day shapes up better. smile

I meant to say here at the office and at home the cups get put away upsidedown. Sheesh! Where's the edit button anyway? wink

I put mine away upside down to PREVENT dust from getting in them.

What bugs me is that Geekman puts dirty glasses in the sink upside down. I don't know why. It just bugs the piss out of me.

And thus, the reasoning behind having the coffee first (although in this case, could have been really dangerous) was born. I am traveling and Martin told me that he is so used to getting my coffee in the morning that he washed and dried my favorite cup for me before he realized that I wasn't home!

Ahahahah diaper his head!

Funny what creatures of habit we are. Whenever my sis visits, I never find stuff for days and days later. . .

I see Lori's point about the rim touching the cupboard, and I see Heidi's point about having the dust settle in them as well.
I put them upside down, but now am rethinking this. eeewwwhh.
Maybe I will put a clean tea towel in the cupboard so I can put them upside down, how is that for a good compromise?

sorry about the cereal. sigh

No, I didn't see where it was going so when I got to the part about pouring the granola ON the BOTTOM of the cup I burst out laughing!!!

I put them upside-down to prevent the dust from falling in. AND, like Miss Ann Thrope, my ex-husband used to (probably still does) put his dirty glasses upside down in the sink and it just pissed me off!

And Martin? How sweet it that man?!

(Oh, and BJ is sweet too - putting away the dishes, and all....)

Always put cups open side down. And toilet paper ALWAYS goes down the back of the roll, not hanging over the front!

That toilet paper thing is totally wrong. Dear Abby even said so. And here's why:

Back in the "olden days," i.e, the '80's and part of the 90's, toilet paper often came with a colourful print...just like paper towels. If you put it on so that it rolls down the back, you could not see the most delightful fleur-de-lis print that was ever so popular.

So, Scaramouche Jones, you now have all the information you need to deduce that toilet paper goes OVER the roll.

Any other questions? (Us old people know absolutely everything!)

Right! OVER the roll.

I think we've got it all straight now...

Carry on!
