My future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
As each day begins, I become more and more excited about my next big adventure. To sum it up, I'm going rogue and becoming a contracted trainer. I've been busy working on my goal (mostly dreaming and talking about it, truth be told) this week and with each step I've taken, it seems more and more like this is what I am supposed to do.

I'm 'interviewing' executives to get their thoughts and ideas about my new venture and so far, I'm getting nothing but thumbs up. They're even offering to let me use them as my advisory council so I have street cred. I don't have the background to be training the topics I've chosen- I'm just good at it and learn quickly. On paper, I don't look great, but my portfolio and recommendations speak for themselves.

I received another out of the blue recommendation on my Linked-In this morning from one of my HR partners. It made my day:
Working with Lori was a dream come true. She is the ultimate professional and her wealth of knowledge is exceptional. She attacks each project with passion, dedication and enthusiasm. I could not have asked for a better partner in rolling out enterprise wide required training. She has an amazing ability to cut to the chase, and effectively provide solutions that are not only efficient but business friendly. I would highly recommend her to any organization that desires a proactive, knowledgeable performer that sees projects to completion. I would not hesitate to call on her in the future. It has been an honor to work in collaboration with Lori!"

I have some other fishes to fry, and it's going to test my resolve to go into business for myself. I'm considering looking for part time work (in training), so I can have that steady paycheck and the ability to work on my self-employed stuff the rest of the time. That would feel super comfortable to me.

I honestly can't believe all of the previous peers/managers/partners that are reaching out to me offering to help me be successful in my next life, wanting nothing in return. I'm so blessed.

Gosh, waiting to see what unfolds is like waiting for Christmas. It's not the least bit scary to me. Not even a little bit.

Lori, that is so wonderful. With all your experience, credentials, and brilliance, I have no doubt that you will land on your feet running and never look back, except to check on all your favorite coworkers.
What a wonderful blessing, especially at this time of year.
I am so *happy* for you!

You go, girl. You sound like you're well on the way to great professional fulfillment and success. I hope that I can get the same (pray for the Big Three).

Hmmmmm..... I'm thinking "Lemonade Girl" fits pretty well too. One of my old lab supervisors quit the plant some years ago and built a successful business in training. There is just a ton of training that is required by law and regulation, and if you can help a company stay in compliance with the regulations, they will flock to you.

Best of wishes.
