Lucky me!
I've talked to both my primary doctor and my gastro today (because my primary care doctor wanted me to) about the test results I got from the employee heath nurse on Friday. They concur that the immunity you receive from boosters (and yes, even if you actually got the disease) can wear off in some people. So, RisibleGirl gets to go get herself a MMR booster shot.

Let's consider this a public service announcement, shall we? Don't consider yourself safe just because you got your immunizations as a kid.

Sheesh... I despise needles, but I will do it because can you imagine getting measles at my age? I freak out when I get a small zit! No amount of cover up would satisfy me.

I just looked up the reaction to the booster: Side effects: Rash, itching, fever, and joint pains are common. Yech. I'd better schedule it for a Monday. No sense in ruining a weekend!

Man, this makes me want to call my mom IMMEDIATELY and check!! A girl I work with recently had a baby and while she was pregnant they found out that she hadn't been immunized with MMR so she couldn't leave the hospital after giving birth until she'd had her booster--hehe, the circle of life wink

I remember getting my booster shot. It hurt just as badly as it did when I was a kid! OUCH!
