Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!
Our neighbors get together every once in a while for a meet and greet, and we all have each other's email addresses. That's been a good and a bad thing. Bad, because there are some neighbors that send us spam-mail ALL.THE.TIME. And some of the 'reply all' email gets out of hand. The upside of being on our neighborhood email list is that we all know when something is awry in the 'hood. Over the past couple of weeks, there were a couple of mountain lion sightings as well as a black bear or two. A mama and a baby, apparently. I've heard that mama bears are rather protective of their young, so I think we'll be keeping our out door night-time activities to a minimum. One neighbor wrote: Cynthia and John, Rose and Ed, it was in your back yard last nite (Fri) at 11:30PM. Stephanie let out Tiqa (Wescott's dog) to do his business. As she did so, she heard a very loud big cat growl-scream. Tiqa, a fearless German Shepherd, ran to the front yard, crossed the street and came barreling back in fear! Something scared her big time. So BEWARE! They will attack pets and children. I can't say that I blame the dog, however I'm intrigued about what that 'very loud big cat growl-scream' sounds like. My good sense tells me to just leave it where it belongs... in my imagination. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about another adventure on 04/05 at 09:27 AM
