Kind of takes the fun out of complaining
Those in the know, know that I get to telecommute three days a week. I *love* telecommuting because:
  1. I get to work in my jammies until noon.

  2. I can exercise and shower in the privacy of my own home on my lunch break

  3. I don't have to wear makeup. I'm finally over that phase of putting on makeup right before the bearded eye-roller comes home. He's convinced me that he likes me just fine without makeup. Good answer mate, good answer.

  4. I don't have ANY drama, except when I take a break to feed peanuts to the jays and squirrels. There are some feathered and furry bullies in my backyard.

  5. I get more work done

  6. I get to sleep in til 5:30, rather than get up at 4:45

  7. I can do my chores while on conference calls (always on mute, of course...)

  8. Etc.

  9. Etc.

  10. Etc.

When I have a tight deadline, I'll work at home even more because I can work longer hours AND skip the almost 4 hour commute. I've been doing that a LOT lately, as you can imagine.

By the way- the deadline for this crazymaker project is 10/9. Yikes.

Yesterday was a in the office day, and much to my chagrin, my entire team was out of the office along with most of the floor. It was like a ghost town due to a conference that I didn't have the time to attend. Since I wasn't attending the conference, I didn't have it marked on my calendar.

When it dawned on my why everyone was gone, I was CRABBY that I came into the office. I wished I'd of remembered this, so I could have just worked from home.

But...

Sweet Boy (son number 2) called me at about 10 a.m., saying that he was downtown with his sweet girlfriend (doll face's mom) and asked me if I wanted to get together for lunch.

What do you think my answer was? cheese

It's amazing how quickly that turned my attitude around. I just love hanging with my kids and their sweethearts because my world is always brighter after I spend time with them.

So, what started out as a crappy day turned into a great day after all.

Next time I'll try not to be so quick to judge my day.
