It was a GREAT day yesterday
With the exception of the static cling issue, yesterday was really great.

It started off with a catered staff meeting in my NEW department of about 35. OK, catered isn't really the right word. They brought in pizza. But hey! Free lunch! tongue rolleye

I'm going to have FUN in this new gig. Even the top dog is fun there. Seriously, this is going to be a great fit for me both in personality and the job I'll be doing. My manager took great pleasure in announcing what a coup d'etat it was in getting me in their department- sharing with everyone that the division heads (old department .vs new department) were fighting over me.

Sometimes it's fun to be popular. Well, now that all that arguing mess is over with.

I had a chance to talk to my old manager's manager. I apologized for the timing of my transfer and assured him that I was going to leave them in a very good position. I shared with him that I'm working LOTS of hours to make this happen. When I thanked him for being so nice to me even though I am leaving during a VERY bad time for the division, he said:

I should be thanking YOU for all of the great things you've done for us. If you EVER want to work for me again, just call me. You are always welcomed back.

That was awfully nice to hear, especially after all that had gone down in previous weeks. I told him that I truly loved my job, and he said, "It shows".

I really like the fact that I'm leaving this department in good standing. I also like the fact that he recognized the energy and enthusiasm that I put into my job. It *almost* makes the insane times a little more worthwhile.

ALMOST

Seriously, leaving my old destination gracefully required a lot of keeping my yapper shut about what I was really feeling; but mostly it required me to stay determined in trusting my instincts.

Like I always say, my gut has yet to steer me wrong. Always listen, and I'll be fine.

That is wonderful that it all worked out well, and you are still in good standing with everyone. Way to go RG! I can see why everyone would fight over you.
I guess I never heard an absolute Yes or No on the issue, just that they were putting up a fight to not let you go. Sheesh.
I am really happy for you, Sweetie.
now I can exhale a sigh of relief. My son, #3RM just got the job he applied for and will start on the 13th. Yea. All is Well.

Isn't great to hear those words, "If you ever want to come back"? I havn't had many, but the ones I got were great.

I honestly make it a personal goal to feel like I'm welcomed back whenever I leave a position. Sometimes that's a very difficult mountain to climb! smile
