I’ll bet my mail carrier hates me
Normally I don't like shopping. In fact you could almost say that I hate shopping, but I've lost weight and really need to replace my winter wardrobe. I was all set for summer, but now that the colder weather is setting in, I have NOTHING. When I tried on my winter clothes and looked in the mirror, they all reminded me of a kid playing dress up. Or maybe I could have passed for a clown. Neither option is going to fly at work.

Since I've been working so much, I've had no time to shop for clothes and/or shoes so I've been going to e-bay and looking for the things that I "need". Need is in quotes, because it's a relative term when it comes to shoes....

For example. I just won these Kenneth Cole beauts:

I definitely don't NEED these shoes, but I thought they'd be fun to wear with levis and just the right top. Ten bucks, brand new, people!

By the way, I showed the bearded eye-roller the picture of these shoes and told him that I bought them for him. It got me the ultimate:

after which he replied, "I hope you are kidding". *snort* He's so fun to mess with.

So, I've been pretty much spending most of my fun money allocation (aka allowance) on these finds on e-bay the past month. I shop on Saturday, and place bids after deciding how much I have to spend. I only do searches on my favorite designers, because I know the quality and how things are sized.

I've been winning about 5 things a week, so that means that unless USPS packages will fit in my mailbox, either my mail carrier (who looks to be about retirement age) or the UPS person needs to walk up my long steep driveway to deliver these things to me a few times a week.

I'm starting to feel a little bad about causing them so much work, but I quickly brush that aside because it's so fun to come home and find a package waiting for me on my doorstep after work. Sometimes knowing what might be in that package causes a teeny-tiny girly squeal to force its way out of my mouth.

Soon I'll have a decent wardrobe again, not to mention time to actually go to the mall, and I'll quit online shopping. Still, I think I'll be giving my mail carrier a sturdy holiday tip for his troubles.

I love your eye-rolling avatar. Too funny. Please send me the details of the visual training from your grief group if you get a chance. Thanks for offering support last week--thought that i would let you know that I got in with a grief counselor for next week too. Here's to progress (hopefully).

Take care girl.

Don't you just LOVE shopping on eBay? I find the greatest bargains. Love the shoes, by the way -- I think they'd even look good with khakis and a sweater. Congrats on a great purchase!

Try again? I have enjoyed your blog! I love looking for clothes on ebay. It's great when you find something too pricey in a catalog then search and find it on ebay for 1/2 the price. I can't tell you how many times I've done that. I also love zappos.com shoe store. You'll find every brand and every style. Free shipping both ways.

I went through a phase of buying online to the point that when the mailman would show up, it was like Christmas. I'd get things I'd forgotten buying in the first place!

Congrats on the weight loss, though! What a fabulous reason for giving the UPS drivers a workout!
