I have the house to myself
The Hubs is having a boys day with his guy pals. They're all going to breakfast together, then to a college football game. It's going to be a good day for them and I can't wait to see The Hubs's happy face when he gets home. I've thought about what I wanted to do today and considered going for a hike, going shopping, going for a drive, or perhaps having a Lost in Space marathon. After all, I'm alone and won't have to worry about The Hubs getting upset that I'm drooling over Major Don West. ![]() It looks like rain today, so hiking is out. I hate shopping (what was I thinking?) and going for a drive just doesn't sound good today. Maybe it's the gas prices. Who knows. So for now, I am sitting here in a dead quiet house, enjoying a nice cup of espresso. The nothingness is kind of nice, actually. Maybe today is a good day for nothingness. You'd think that because I telecommute three days a week, I'd be itching to get out of the house. The thing is, I rarely have alone time in the house even on my telecommute days. I get phone calls and email so none of the time alone is really alone time, if that makes sense. This is different. It's quiet and nothing is expected of me. I like it. I've been told in the past that I keep my life insanely busy so I don't have time to think about things. I can see a lot of truth in that. I'll be the first one to admit that my mind, if left unoccupied, can be a very scary playground. I haven't given myself a lot of time to think about last weekend. It's not that I haven't wanted to think about it, it's that I just haven't had time. I think today would be a good day to do that. Stay tuned.... I'm kind of a solitary gal myself. If I don't have a certain amount of quiet time I lose it pretty quick!    ![]() jill wrote:
when i was a kid - we used to play lost in space in a neighbor's yard - on a very antiquate jungle gym - that we thought looked like a space ship... on time alone - i used to have too much - not too little.. as my husband tells me - i am all or nothing!    ![]() Joker wrote:
