I have the house to myself
The Hubs is having a boys day with his guy pals. They're all going to breakfast together, then to a college football game. It's going to be a good day for them and I can't wait to see The Hubs's happy face when he gets home.

I've thought about what I wanted to do today and considered going for a hike, going shopping, going for a drive, or perhaps having a Lost in Space marathon. After all, I'm alone and won't have to worry about The Hubs getting upset that I'm drooling over Major Don West.

It looks like rain today, so hiking is out. I hate shopping (what was I thinking?) and going for a drive just doesn't sound good today. Maybe it's the gas prices. Who knows.

So for now, I am sitting here in a dead quiet house, enjoying a nice cup of espresso. The nothingness is kind of nice, actually. Maybe today is a good day for nothingness.

You'd think that because I telecommute three days a week, I'd be itching to get out of the house. The thing is, I rarely have alone time in the house even on my telecommute days. I get phone calls and email so none of the time alone is really alone time, if that makes sense.

This is different. It's quiet and nothing is expected of me. I like it.

I've been told in the past that I keep my life insanely busy so I don't have time to think about things. I can see a lot of truth in that. I'll be the first one to admit that my mind, if left unoccupied, can be a very scary playground.

I haven't given myself a lot of time to think about last weekend. It's not that I haven't wanted to think about it, it's that I just haven't had time. I think today would be a good day to do that.

Stay tuned....

I'm kind of a solitary gal myself. If I don't have a certain amount of quiet time I lose it pretty quick!
