Customer service? What is that?
I've been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrated with Sprint the past two months. Their help desk needs a LOT of training. Y'all know I have my nifty N800, right? Well, right about the time I got that, I switched carriers to Sprint. I've never had a problem with signal with them, except for at my house (I can't get a signal with ANY carrier here). Since I have a land line, that's not a big problem for me. Anyhoo- I switched to sprint because their phone as modem (PAM) plan was good- and the speed was as good as broadband. The N800 is my 'Internet on the go' device (as well as endless entertainment with games, books, etc.), and the two (Sprint PAM plan and N800) worked very well together. Sometime around early April, the PAM just quit working. I wasn't even able to get in the Internet via my phone, so I knew something was up. I tried contacting customer service a million times (I'm sure it was a million... heh), and the hold times were outrageous. I ended up hanging up after waiting for 1/2 hour. I decided to give it another whirl after I got back from Italy, and was even MORE determined because I was spending $35.00 a month for service I wasn't using. I finally got through after several tries, and was told that it was a problem on their end and they'd have it fixed in a couple of days. Two days later, I was able to access the Internet through my phone, but still couldn't use the PAM service on my N800. Again, I tried to get help almost every day, holding for long periods of time- only to be dropped when they picked up the phone, or dropped when they forwarded me to second level, or told that it was a problem with my N800. I even went into the Sprint store and THEY couldn't get through to second level support. I probably spent 20 hours on this, between researching on the Internet, trying customer service, etc. Finally, I tracked down a direct email (via a forum) to Sprint's customer service, and after two follow-ups from me due to no response, I got the reply I was looking for. "Your phone wasn't provisioned properly after we fixed our server issues". Well, THANK YOU for telling me something I've been trying to tell you for two months! IDIOTS! (Imagine that in a Napoleon Dynamite voice) My next trick? Get a refund for two months of PAM service that I wasn't able to use. I'm not holding my breath, but I'll let you know how that goes.
