Breakthrough…
I've mentioned here a time or two that sometimes I don't know how I feel until I've written it in my blog. Well, this is another one of those examples, except it was in a letter to my TBI friend.

Oh yeah- I don't think that I mentioned that my Neurologist added traumatic brain injury to the post concussion syndrome diagnosis. Whatever...

She was asking me if, like her, I'm working reduced hours and if anyone at work knows what's going on. She explained that she's tired of explaining why she does the things she does, and wonders if she'll ever go back to full time.

Yes, I'm working full time, and have been since I hit my head. I've taken two days off (the day I went to the ER with seizures and the day I had a bunch of tests all in the same day). I'm afraid that I'm hard-wired that way, but I do NOT push myself the way I used to. I couldn't if I wanted to.

I think of it this way, all of my previous managers have commented that having me is like having 3-5 employees because I was able to accomplish so much. Now? I think I'm like having one employee- and I'm OK with that. I've given 18 years to my company (times that by 3 to 5 if you want....). I plan to retire in January 2015- so they get one employee until then. The other 2-4 retired when I hit my head.

The other 2-4 retired when I hit my head. Hot damn, I'm brilliant.

Yes- one day I plan to quit talking about my damaged head. I promise. At least I'm not whining anymore, right? hmmm

I think with all those other people working for them, they should multiply the benefits by 3~5 as well? Then you can retire NOW, or maybe you could have retired before you even started?

Just let all those other people work for you. nowaitaminute. . .I guess they, (and when I say 'they' I mean all your other personalities) needed you to keep them on task?
Good thing they retired, now your head won't be as filled with voices.
Hey, with all of 'them' retired, maybe you can sleep better as well?
I hope it all works out so you receive all the benefits, anyway.
