I didn't realize that I was scheduled for a cleaning along with getting my crown on today. I'm not sure I would have set myself up for that considering that it hurts to keep my mouth open for any length of time.

I had NO idea how much this would hurt. I was trying not to be a baby, but I had tears streaming down my face while she was cleaning my teeth. I couldn't stop them from coming. Thankfully, I wasn't crying out loud- that would have been embarrassing. It wasn't my teeth that hurt, it was manipulating my mouth, leaning on my chin, etc. I had to have her stop a few times because it was so bad.

My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon to see about getting my jaw fixed. He said that I should be able to open my mouth bigger and it shouldn't be hurting like this six months later, so there is something still wrong. He also noted several fractures in two teeth on the left side of my face, along with the tooth that completely broke in two. That's opposite of the side I hit, so I must have clamped down hard when I hit the floor. Thank goodness my tongue wasn't in the way, right sis?

My appointment with the oral surgeon is next Wednesday. I truly can't wait to get all this behind me. I'm tired of being in pain, but I hope that doesn't mean it'll take re-breaking bones to fix it.
