I should have taken some “before” pictures
I spent almost four hours in my garden(s) yesterday and have barely touched the surface. I spent a little bit of time pruning the REALLY out of shape things and pulling out some of the dead stuff (like this) : ![]() I see lots and lots of gardening in my future, and I'm quite OK with that. I love working in the yard (as long as it's not just pulling weeds or mowing the lawn). I pulled and cut four wheel barrels full of stuff in just under four hours, not stopping for even one break. Yup, I'm sore- but it's a good feeling because I know I'm back to doing something that I love to do so much. I have lots of plans for several garden themes. The first one is this: ![]() I also plan to put in an Asian area with a koi fish pond. I think if I work on it for one hour every day after work, then a few hours on the weekend, I'll be ready to do the REALLY fun stuff. I've ordered the seeds and plan to start those in doors using my seedling heat maps and grow lights. Really, once all the planting is done, there'll be very little maintenance to the yard since I have a sprinkler system. I don't for see getting to that point though, for at least two months. There's a lot to be done. It'll be beautiful and relaxing when I'm finished. Something I'm really looking forward to. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about another adventure on 03/20 at 05:08 AM

The one and only thing I miss about our home in Virginia. My garden(s). There is NOTHING like getting gobs of dirt under your fingernails on a sunny day and getting greatly rewarded for it later.    ![]() Stew wrote:
Very nice. You ever had Koi before? If not, I the fish grim reaper will be glad to tell you what NOT to do!    ![]() Miss Cellania wrote:
I have a cement fish pond! But I use plain old goldfish from the bait shop. Very hardy. I just muck it out once a year, remove half the lilies. Those water lilies grow like crazy! Your gonna LOVE this garden, both the process and finished product!    ![]() Next entry: C is for cookie Previous entry: My son, the comedian In case you're wondering....
