My son, the comedian
My kids (OK, they're not kids- they're 23 and 24) came down to spend the evening and night with us yesterday. Wow- we now actually have bedrooms for each of them. How cool is that?

While generally, there isn't an ulterior motive to spend time with us, there was birthday money collected by my youngest. It's his birthday next week, but apparently there are hipper parties to be attended on his actual birthday. I wonder if having "pin the tail on the donkey" here would have changed his mind?

We went out to dinner together last night and caught up on things- well mainly BJ got caught up. I talk to the boys fairly often and so I usually know what's going on in their lives in a general sense.

My oldest (Cameron) was telling us about his trip back East to see his girlfriend (someone I happen to completely adore) and shared the fact that even perfect strangers seem to pick up on the fact that they're in love- even making comments to them about it. I sure wish I could share pictures of them here- they really do look very happy and that makes me feel all gooey and mushy. But I like to respect people's privacy so I won't get into too many details or share photos. I asked Cameron if he wants to blog here and so maybe he'll share pictures. (hint, hint)

I hope I remember the details of this story right, but the punch line is the important part so...

They were in a restaurant and a guy came up to their table, then started singing a romantic song to them. I guess he really got into it, from what Cameron says. Cameron said that he was very tempted to say, "DUDE- thanks a lot- this is my SISTER!" when the guy was through, but held back because the guy seemed so earnest.

Oh, I wish he'd of done it. I'd love to hear about the reaction.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again about Cameron- the apple did NOT fall far from the tree and I love it. That's one of the reasons I wish he'd blog here with me. He's damned funny, yet can also be very poetic.

The boys... ahem... young men... whatever, are upstairs still sawing logs this morning. There's something really neat about having my kids under my roof when I wake up in the morning. What's even cooler is that I can totally imagine their families (when they have them) coming down the stairs of our home in the morning one day too.

Sigh...
