My co-worker
He's super helpful. He's obviously not on the fast track for a raise.

Einstein’s site is up and running
FINALLY! I finished designing Einstein's site last night at about 1:30 a.m. Of course there was futzing around to do, but BJ came downstairs and made me go to bed! He was right, it was waaaaayyyyy past my bedtime, but it took a long time before I could get the site to look good in all of the browsers (stupid Internet Explorer).

Design and graphics (including background with the bones, paws and dots) by yours truly. I'm getting good at this stuff, if I do say so myself. wink

Anyhoocares, I'll be back-filling with posts during the day, using stuff I've blogged on this site and stuff to go with the pictures on his flicker set.

If you've visited the site before, you might see the 'under construction' graphic. Just hit resend (F5) and that'll get you fixed up.

I'll be working on getting advertisers for the site, so when I get them, help a pup out and click the advertiser links. Gotta feed the puppy somehow. tongue rolleye When I do product reviews, I'll note if an advertiser asked me to review something. Otherwise, the reviews are truly my opinion of stuff regardless of advertisers. Clear as mud?

I promise, there will be no advertisers here. This blog is simply me sharing my thoughts with anyone that cares to read them.

Now shoo! Go see my work of beauty!

Oh, BTW, you'll notice in the "about" column that Einstein has his own business cards. No lie. He really does and I plan to hand them out to everyone that stops to see him (which is everyone he meets), along with potential advertising clients.

Oooohhhhhh, now I get it!
He's not a dog!

Last night at the puppy play time was a bust. He wasn't afraid of the dogs, so that was good. He just didn't want to have to deal with them. He'd decided that his place was in the lap of the person that worked there and it was OK if other dogs came and greeted him by touching his nose. If the gal nudged him off her lap, he'd stand next to her for a minute and then climb back on.

Nope, he's not a dog person- but we'll keep trying. He has SO much energy and I know that if he'd break down and give in to the idea of actually playing with one of these foreign creatures, he'd really enjoy himself.

He's POOPED out today, but if it's nice I'm going to take him out on another adventure. We went on our first hike together yesterday and he had a blast. By the time we were done, he had mud up to all four of his elbows (knees?). I'm lucky in that we have lots of places to take day hikes in our area, and now I have a hiking pal. I've missed that.

Loving it!

A pooped Einstein is a good Einstein.

I guess I should just diligently do my job hunting in the morning and ENJOY my afternoons by going outdoors with my little pal. When I get a job, I don't want to look back on this time as the months and months of hand wringing and worrying days. I want to remember this as a really awesome vacation.

Yeah, that's it.

My prediction
Yeah, yeah yeah... I know- I've not been very 'social' these days. I've been trying to stay offline except to search for jobs. Otherwise, I've been working in my yard, meeting up with friends/family, playing with Einstein and other offline activities.

Anyhoo...

I predict that I'm going to have a job interview this week. No, it's not with Psychic Friends... I just have a feeeeeeeeeeeeeling.

I'm starting to give up on the idea of running my own business. I had a really good conversation with someone a couple of weeks ago that gave me a few things to think about. Y'all know that I love *doing*. I don't love marketing, nor do I love the schmoozing that goes along with it (although admittedly I'm great at it) because it takes away from focusing on the work. I like getting my hands in the mud and creating things that solve problems. Sure, I'm creative and that has to be a part of ANYTHING that I do. My strength is in my analytic mind. I'm proud of the fact that I can stand back, look at a problem and figure out a way to make that problem disappear.

I'm starting to focus in the idea of getting a J.O.B. I am becoming more and more aware of my obsession with money and the ability to pay the bills. I remember when I was one of the top loan officers in the company, making LOADS of money and all I could focus on was "what will happen when this stops?" Maybe I'm not cut out to be self-employed.

There's something to be said about having that monthly paycheck. There's also something to be said for not breaking down in tears several times a week because I'm freaked out about money. We know how obsessive I can be. It's getting ugly in my noggin', really really ugly.

I have been applying for oodles of jobs every week, but now I'm opening up my mind to possibilities that I hadn't considered in the past- because what I've been applying for hasn't gotten me anywhere.

In fun news- we're taking Einstein to a puppy play date in about 45 minutes. I can't wait to see if he plays with those alien creatures we like to call dogs. So far, two visits to the dog park have been a complete bust and meeting dogs on the street isn't striking his fancy much either.

...bless his heart.
