Wednesday, June 20, 2007And yet ANOTHER trip to the ER!
I woke up this morning feeling blah, which was par for thourse these days, but had some tingling in the bottom of my feet. I thought about it for more than a minute and moved on to starting my pile of projects. Sometime around 11, I noticed my vision going double adn my hands were really tingly. The tingle went all up to my elbows. I called my doctor who, again, told me to go to the ER. By the time I got there, the tingling turned into mild shaking, and then violent shaking. It scared the hell out of me because I had no control over my body. Apparently I was having seizures for over 2 hours, and poor BER sat by my side and held my hand no matter what grip I was giving him. It was really scary, you guys. Really scary. By the time the doctor gave me something in my IV, I was drenched with sweat and crying my eyes out. I probably freaked out my poor husband. He really didn’t sign up for this, yaknow? The drugs did the trick, kept me from seizing and kept me calm. Right before we left, I started up again, so they gave me another round. I’m dadgum tired everyone. My clothes were wet through and trough from the non-stop seizures, so that was quite a workout. I’m now home with new anti-seizure meds and a referral for a neurologist. Hopefully, I can set this up for tomorrow. The real drag? I am no unallowed to drive a car until Ive been seizure free for six months. Buzz kill..., but it’s one that I understand. Just wondering.... will this EVER end? RisibleGirl was blabbing on about her adventures again on 06/20 at 07:58 PM

Tuesday, June 19, 2007Home again
I was in the ER for 7 hours. SEVEN hours! Based on a few neurological tests (you know- with the lights, the eye-hand coordination, etc.) and the swelling I still had going on in my head- the doctor sent me for a CT scan. Good news! I have a brain! More good news! I have nothing more than a moderate concussion. Bad news! I spent 7 hours in the ER. No treatment, except to "take it easy" and take meds for the nausea. Oh- and I'm not supposed to bump my head anytime soon. Gotta go- I need to go shopping for a special helmet. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about her adventures again on 06/19 at 07:52 PM

Live! From the ER!
Yeah, so maybe I shouldn't play doctor on the Internet afterall... I was (ummmm, how do I say this politely?) tossing my cookies last night, but still ignored that it could possibly be due to the head banging from Friday. I went to work this morning, and was fighting nausea and headaches (not where I bonked my head), and pretty much every co-worker that saw me asked if I was OK. I was told that I look 'spacey', tired, and a number of other unflattering things. I decided to cave in and call my doctor. She left me a message (because I was on the phone when she called) and told me to go to the E.R. immediately. Did I do that? Nope. I called the Dr. back and asked if she realized that I bonked my head on Friday- it wasn't THAT much of an emergency that I should go to the ER. I was then invited to come to the doctor's office so she could tell me in person to go to the ER. Ohhhhhhkayyyyyy, I'm tracking now- maybe this head bonking thing was a little more serious than I thought. So, now I'm in the 'observation' waiting room where they can keep an eye on me. I'm willing to bet that I'm just fine, but I guess I'd better let the doctor decide that for himself. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about her adventures again on 06/19 at 07:45 PM

Sunday, June 17, 2007I’m fine, really!
I still have a very sore bump on the back of my head, but I am fine! I told myself last night that if I continued feeling nauseated, I'd call my doctor today. The nausea is gone this morning, so it's all good. New plan: Eat more ::check!:: I'll start wearing a helmet to bed ::thinking about it:: In other news, I was feeling sorta lazy yesterday, so I looked at my pictures from our wedding (among 100 million other lazy-type activities). I've decided that my family are a bunch of weirdos. I'm sure this comes as no surprise to you, considering that I'm a part of the family. My two favorite pictures from the wedding trip don't include the bearded eye-roller . Can you believe it? OK, I have a couple of favorites that do include him, but they're my favorites for a different reason. They also include gratuitous kissing and I thought I'd spare you from that. Instead, I shall provide my two favorite "my family are a bunch of goofs" pictures. This is me and Cosy , who is my bestest friend in the entire world and just happens to also be my sister, the day before the wedding. We spent the day goofing around in Vegas. The picture was taken by her husband, who hung with us for the day (BER was playing golf with his friends). I'm really surprised that he married her after being with the two of us for an entire day. I've heard that we're really annoying when we're together. ![]() And this? I have this picture on my desk at work. The photographer wanted to pose my sons, sister and brother on the bridge for a nice family photo. See what happens? Can't behave for even a minute, I tell you! ![]() Gosh, I love my family JUST the way it is. RisibleGirl was blabbing on about her adventures again on 06/17 at 12:21 PM

Saturday, June 16, 2007So ANYYYYWAYYYYY
I decided that this week, starting last Monday, would be the week I get back on my diet so I can finish losing the weight I want to lose. I've not been eating properly, exercising or drinking NEARLY enough water since hmmmm..... Ah yes, December 2006. I was feeling rather complacent about diet and exercise because I was very close to where I wanted to be. One holiday, two surgeries and one trip to Italy later, I've gained 6 lbs. All in all, not too bad considering....... My goal as of Monday was to lose 25 more lbs or be a perfect size 6 (perfect, meaning anything size 6 or less will fit me without being tight). I've found that if I jump-start my diet by drinking protein shakes three meals a day (ensuring that I take extra multivitamins), for a few days, I am able to cut the cravings for carbs and sugar. Yesterday was my last day of the protein shakes, and I've lost a whopping four pounds (big whoop.) This post does have a point.... just wait for it. Remember a few months ago when I fainted, landed square on my butt and woke the bearded eye-roller out of a deep sleep? Well, last night it happened again. I'm going to chalk this one up to dieting, because I tend to get faint a LOT more when I'm not consuming enough calories. I felt it coming on (the bionic man noises, tunnel vision, hands and face go numb), as I was heading for a bio-break in the middle of the night. As soon as I got the indication that I was going down for the count, I sat down. Unfortunately, I didn't do it fast enough because I ended up banging the back of my head on something as I fell. It could have been the dresser or the wall. I have no idea which, because I was out cold as it happened. All I know is that whatever I banged my head on was not the carpeted floor. It was something hard. I don't think I was out very long, but was so disoriented that I forgot that BER was in the room sleeping. As I regained consciousness, I was saying REALLY LOUDLY "Ow, ow, ow, oh, oh, oh, OW, OW, OW" and a few moans and groans thrown in for good measure. This, of course, woke up BER so he got out of bed to see what all the racket was about. It shocked me that he was there (I was still a little out of it), which he found to be pretty funny. "Honey, I live here- remember?" Oh yeah, you with the beard. I recognize you now... So, today I'm sporting a HUGE knot on the back of my head and let me tell you- it hurts. I'm pretty sure that I got a concussion out of the whole thing because I was immediately nauseated and not only did the back of my head hurt, where I hit it- the front hurt too. I was also very dizzy while laying in bed trying to go back to sleep. If I were a cartoon character, you would have seen stars and birds flying in circles around my head. If I did get a concussion, it was a mild one because the only thing that's bothering me this morning is the knot on my noggin. I'm not overly concerned about it. Note to self: Eat something, will you? Der..... RisibleGirl was blabbing on about her adventures again on 06/16 at 09:36 AM
