Head Bonking

Leaps and bounds, people. Every day I'm SO.MUCH.BETTER. I can't begin to tell you what a relief this is. I was seriously trying to figure out how to let the bearded eye-roller off the hook. I couldn't imagine saddling him with this the rest of his life.

Thankfully, he just needs to be worried about being saddled with my adolescent sense of humor. He may say that he doesn't think I'm very funny- but we all know differently.

I'm going to start responding to comments again, now that I can type faster than 2 words per hour. I do want to just thank everyone, again, for all of your thoughts and kind words. Wow. You guys are THE BEST. It's a pretty cool lil' family we have here on the world wide web, isn't it?

I'll let you know what the MRI results are when they come in. Based on how I'm feeling, I don't expect that there will be anything remarkable to write about. It was confirmed by the gal doing the MRI that there is indeed a brain in my head. That's good enough for me.

After work, I'll try to go blog hopping to see what y'all have been up to.

And Sheila? I relinquish the medical drama back to your court. I sincerely hope that you've found a super groovy eye patch by now (arrrgh, matey)- but even more, I hope that you're back to normal (ha, whatever that is!) soon.

Wow- it's a good thing they had my head tied down or I would have jerked myself right off the friggin' table. I'm highly 'unhinged' (for lack of a better word) by loud sounds and bright lights these days, so this was no fun at all.

The technician said that my doctor should have the MRI results by EOD Wednesday. We'll see.... we'll see....

Tomorrow will be my first public appearance in the office. Cross your fingers that I don't act like an imbecile.

All brain cells seem to be functioning OK now. Just a little jerking and shaking around. Maybe I'll just play some groovy music at my desk and people will think I'm getting my groove on.

Yesterday was the semi-annual block party. We missed the first two, and swore that we'd attend this one come hell or high water so we didn't appera unsocial. We really haven't met any of our neighbors except our next door neighbors.

I REALLY didn't want to go, but went anyway because BER said that we could just show our faces then leave. OK, fine.

Thankfully, I can look good even if I don't seem very smart- eh?

One of the neighbors though I'd been drinking (was it the slurred speech perhaps? or was it the inability to form complete sentences... who knows). I decided to come clean with the head injury because Lord knows, I don't need the neighbors thinking they have Dori the Drunk living in the 'hood.

I guess that was a good idea, because people seemed a lot nicer to me after word spread. I guess I really do seem a little 'off' in person (well, probably here on my blog too), and maybe people were wondering about me since this was the first time they've met me.

I'm back at work today (from home). Don't know how effective I'll be- but my mad typing skillz are coming back, which is a good thing.

Poor BER, he's really been through it. I can't imagine having to watch someone I love do the things I've been doing.

He asked me how I was today and I told him that I feel less foggy. I think I'm thinking more clearly now and I can certainly type better- although only if I go really slow.

This drug the doctor has me on knocks me on my butt. I feel like I have a hangover until sometime in thte afternoon. I ought to be really effective at work next week, eh? Yes- the doc said it's best that I try to keep my mind active, so working is the best think for me. I shudder to think about what I'll be producing.

Anyhoo- he told em that today was the first time he's seen me smile since all of this started, and that made him really happy. Gah- I really love that man.

I've profusedly thanked him over and over again every day (and every hour) fro being so kind and gentle wiht me. He keeps telling me to stop thaking him, and last night said, "put the shoe on the other foot. If it was me going through this, how sould you treat me?"

I told him that i'd drop hom like a hot potato.

That sweet man deserves a medal.

Bless his heart- he's been SO good to me. I guess the pool boy has gotta go. ::snort::

I'm watchint a movie right now about a girl who was possessed. I told BER that this is probalby my problem. All that jerking around and wtuff she's doing lookw way too familiar.

I alwo told him that I think it's kinf of finny that he married a smart chubby girl, and now he's married to a dummy with a nice body. I think he prevers the smart churbby version- truth be told.

Really- we both know I'll get betetr, and I'm not really dumb- just sound that way- so we're doing our best to keep our senese of humor in this house. OK- he doesnt' think I'm very funny, but I do. And we all know that it's my opoinion that counts.

And? the tremors are dying down- as well as the jolting around. I'm on Klonipin (sp?) for 10 days, and seems that this is doing a good job of stopping all the movement. I guess RG's guide to weightloss through jerking around will come to al halt. Bummer. I'd better at least get a six pack out or this.
